Anya Mielniczek
Anya Mielniczek is a Polish, Canadian-based multidisciplinary artist. She combines her fine art background with raw material grit, in both private and public sectors, creating mixed-media installations, mural work and facilitating community art programming and activations. Since receiving her BFAH from Queen’s University in 2012, Anya’s worked with various organizations, municipalities and businesses creating public art globally and within communities in her home-town of Toronto. The grounding commitment of Anya’s practice is to create with purpose; to create public art that provides a voice and stimulates conversation for environmental and community issues. She believes murals and public art are powerful vehicles for conversation and insight, and so, approaches each project -whether working alone or collaboratively - as an opportunity to evoke contemplation, connection or inspiration. Ultimately, her goal is to create work that draws interest, inspires, and brings awareness for sustainable change. To date, Anya’s corporate projects include production and collaboration with Humber College, David Suzuki Foundation, HideSeek Toronto, BACARDI, QUO Makeup, Moroccanoil, DELL, RBC, 1800GOTJUNK and Chevrolet.
