Meter Upgrade Schedule
Residential and commercial electric meters will be upgraded starting in spring 2026.
The City is replacing manually-read electric meters with new AMI meters. Meter replacement will be quick and easy, taking only a few minutes. Residents may notice a very brief power interruption. Learn more about how AMI Meters work here.
Neighbourhood Schedule
All residential and commercial customers will be receiving new AMI Meters, and installation will be rolled out neighbourhood-by-neighbourhood, starting in north Red Deer and working our way south. Watch for AMI signage in your area and check the schedule below.
