Community Better ParticipACTION Grant

The City of Red Deer was named Canada’s Most Active Community in the 2022 ParticipACTION Community Better Challenge, winning the top prize of $100,000 to be used for physical activity and sports initiatives in our community.

Since this announcement, an advisory group of the organizations involved in Red Deer’s Community Better Challenge came together to decide how to allocate the prize money. There are two grant opportunities available for individuals or organizations to help activate and engage people in Red Deer to be physically active:

$500 Physical Activity Individual Grant

$1000 Physical Activity Organizational Grant

Applications will be accepted until March 15, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Projects must take place between April 15, 2023 and January 15, 2024. Projects must be offered at no cost to participants. Successful applicants will be notified on or before April 14, 2023.

Once funding has been exhausted, applications will no longer be accepted.

Within 30 days of your project's end date, successful grant recipients must complete and submit the Community Better Physical Activity Grant Report Form (pdf).
