City Council meetings are open to the public and are held approximately every two weeks on Tuesdays in Council Chambers at City Hall, 4914 48 Avenue. Residents can attend the open portions of Council meetings in person or watch online. Council meeting livestream and agenda system is changing
Beginning with the May 26, 2026 City Council meeting, The City of Red Deer is moving to eScribe, a new online platform for Council meeting livestreams, agendas, reports and meeting schedules.
During the transition, some older meeting content will remain available at meeting.reddeer.ca. This link will later redirect to the new Council meeting livestream and meeting information page.

July 28 Council meeting and public hearings temporarily relocated
The Monday, July 28, 2026 regular City Council meeting, including scheduled public hearings, will be held at the Intermediate School, Omni Activity Space, and will begin at 1 p.m.
This is a change from the regular 10:30 a.m. start time and regular Council Chambers location.

City Council Chambers will be closed for renovation beginning July 15. The July 14 regular City Council meeting will be the final meeting held in the current Chambers before construction begins.
The Council Chambers renovation will support a more modern, accessible, safe and functional space for Council meetings and other formal governance processes. The project includes accessibility upgrades, seating and layout improvements, security enhancements, upgraded audiovisual and IT infrastructure, new flooring and new furniture.
Construction is anticipated to be complete by September 1, 2026. The City is targeting a return to Council Chambers for the September 1 Council meeting.
