Red Deer, Alta. – Red Deer RCMP are providing an update and correction into the Mar. 24, 2026, robbery at Sorensen station.
As a result of the investigation, RCMP determined the victim was followed by the suspects as he walked from Sorensen bus station. The victim was then robbed near 48th Ave. and 50th Street in Red Deer, Alta.
Three male youth, all residents of Red Deer, have been arrested and charged. As the youth are under 18, their names cannot be released in accordance with provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
A 13-year-old male has been charged with one count of Robbery with a knife. Following a Judicial Interim Release hearing, the youth was remanded into custody to appear before the Youth Criminal Court of Justice in Red Deer on Mar. 30, 2026.
Two 15-year-old males have also each been charged with Robbery with a knife. Following Judicial Interim Release hearings, both of these youths were released from custody with conditions. One youth is to appear before the Youth Criminal Court of Justice in Red Deer on Apr. 9, 2026, while the other youth is to appear on Apr. 16, 2026.

Red Deer, Alta. – Red Deer RCMP are providing an update into the Mar. 24, 2026, robbery at Sorensen station.
As a result of the investigation, RCMP have identified all involved suspects. 2 youth have been arrested with charges pending.
As all identified suspects have been confirmed as youth, we ask that the previously provided photos be taken down.
An update will be provided once all charges are sworn.

Red Deer, Alta. – On Mar. 24, 2026, at 8:02 a.m., Red Deer RCMP received a report of a robbery at the Sorensen Bus Station in Red Deer, Alta.
The initial investigation revealed that earlier that day, a youth had been threatened with a knife and their backpack had been stolen.
The youth was not physically injured and police are working with the school and community regarding safety.
Red Deer RCMP are actively investigating this incident and are asking anyone who can identify the suspects in the attached photos, to contact the Red Deer RCMP at 403-406-2200.
