On Oct. 2, 2025, shortly before 2 p.m., Red Deer RCMP Downtown Patrol Unit (DPU) arrested a wanted male while conducting mountain bike patrols in the downtown core, leading to new charges and the seizure of drugs.

Police were conducting proactive mountain bike patrols in the area of 43 St, downtown Red Deer, when they observed a group of males in a parking lot using illicit drugs. Upon further investigation, RCMP learned one of the males was wanted on outstanding warrants for previous charges.
