On July 12, 2025, at approximately 10:08 p.m., Red Deer RCMP received a report of a bus bench that had been deliberately set on fire on Addington Drive.
An investigation was launched by the Red Deer RCMP General Investigation Section. As a result, two youth, a 15-year-old and a 13-year-old, have been arrested and charged with arson-damage to property. As both are under the age of 18, they cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The youth were released on an Undertaking. They are scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 28, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer.
