Red Deer RCMP & City of Red Deer seek community feedback to set policing priorities

November 18, 2025 9:50 AM

Red Deer, Alta. – The City of Red Deer and Red Deer RCMP are seeking community feedback as they work together to develop the community’s 2026-2028 Annual Policing Plan.

The Annual Policing Plan, or APP, outlines local priorities for RCMP to focus on over a two-year time frame. The plan is developed jointly by The City and RCMP and incorporates crime data and public feedback into the decision-making process.

Encouraging community members to share their experiences and considering that feedback as well as crime statistics and other data is vital to ensuring policing priorities reflect the true needs of community.

Members of the public can share their experiences and concerns through a public survey online at engage.reddeer.ca, and will remain open until December 7, 2025.

The 2026-2028 APP will take effect on April 1, 2026, replacing the previous 2024-2026 APP. The last APP also incorporated public feedback and identified three priorities: intelligence-led police response, police visibility and public safety, and community engagement and partnerships.

To take the survey visit engage.reddeer.ca and to learn more about the Annual Policing Plan, visit The City’s website at reddeer.ca/APP.
