Red Deer RCMP make arrest for stolen vehicle and weapon offences

On August 15, 2024, at approximately 1750HRS, officers from the Red Deer RCMP Crime Reduction Team, observed a stolen truck driving within the Bower area of Red Deer. With assistance from Police Dog Services and the Emergency Response team, officers successfully arrested the individual. A loaded shotgun and other weapons were later located within the stolen vehicle.

As a result of our investigation, Chad Daniel Wickett, a 32-year-old resident of Red Deer, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of Unauthorized Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Unauthorized Possession in Motor Vehicle
  • Careless Use or Storage of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon Contrary to an Order x4
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime - Over $5,000
  • Failure to comply with order x 6
  • Operation while impaired by alcohol or a drug
  • Failure or Refusal to Comply with a Demand
  • 26 Additional Warrants

Chad Daniel Wickett was taken before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 23, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer.
