Red Deer, Alta. - September marks when students from across our community return back to school. Red Deer RCMP Youth and Community Action Team (YCAT) spent the month of September visiting the numerous schools throughout the city of Red Deer, speaking with students regarding back to school safety and educating them on the city’s community standard bylaws regarding bully and fighting.
- Bullying carries a penalty of $125 for the first offence, $250 for the second and $500 for the third and subsequent offences.
- Fighting carries a penalty of $500 for the first offence, $750 for the second and $1000 for the third and subsequent offences.
By enforcing bullying and fighting bylaws we can continue keeping youth safe. Bullying and fighting are unacceptable and have a negative impact on health, safety, and the enjoyment of public places.
