On Apr. 16, 2023, at approximately 07:57 p.m., Red Deer RCMP received several driving complaints in relation to a stolen blue Mitsubishi Eclipse driving dangerously in the area of Inglewood. The male driver had collided into a vehicle and a pole before fleeing the scene. RCMP officers located the vehicle and attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver refused to stop. A short time later the vehicle was found abandoned and the driver fled on foot before being arrested by police.
Lucas Denny, a 28-year-old resident of Red Deer, was arrested and remanded into custody. He is charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of Methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of Fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of Property obtained by Crime over $5000
- Dangerous Driving
- Fail to remain at collision scene
- Flight from police
- Resist Arrest
- Fail to comply with demand (drug impaired driving)
- Unlawfully possess another’s Identity Documents
- Possess ammunition while prohibited from doing so by Order
- Drive while unauthorized
