Red Deer RCMP seize illicit drugs

Red Deer, Alta. – In late April, Red Deer RCMP’s General Investigation Section (GIS) began investigating a property in the Riverside Meadows neighbourhood. A search warrant was obtained and executed May 21, 2021 for the residence, where a large amount of illicit drugs, weapons and stolen property were found.

Inside the residence, members of GIS located and seized:

  • 475 grams of marihuana
  • 27 grams of cocaine
  • 29 grams of DMT
  • 5 grams of fentanyl
  • 167 grams of MDMA
  • 773 grams of Methamphetamine
  • 1979 grams of Psilocybin
  • 19 litres of GHB
  • 1 semi automatic prohibited shotgun
  • $20,616 CAD

Also located in a garage on the property were two stolen all-terrain vehicles:

  • A stolen 2020 Can Am Outlander quad
  • A stolen Konker motorcycle

Four individuals have been charged in conjunction with the investigation.

Anthony White, 41, of Red Deer, and Stephanie Johnson, 37, of Red Deer, each face eight charges:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x5)
  • Possession of property over $5000 (x2)
  • Possession of stolen property

Richard Dryborough-Browes, 51, and Keira Hopkins, 22, of Red Deer each face five charges, including:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x3)
  • Careless use/storage of a firearm
  • Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition   

All four are scheduled to appear at Red Deer Provincial Court on July 15, 2021.
