The City of Red Deer held a taxi plate draw today to issue 15 new plates.
23 names were included in the draw, with a total of 218 plates requested. The winning names and number of plates issued are:

- Jennifer Hoffe, O/A TBD
- Jaya Deluxe Services Ltd.
- Zoran Cadjan O/A TBD x 2
- Ahmad Farid Massud O/A TBD
- Mirwais Parwany O/A TBD
- Augustin Rupali O/A TBD x 2
- Alpha Taxi
- 94 Cabs
Each draw winner will be contacted by The City to confirm their anticipated next steps and timelines for starting their brokerages.
If the plates issued today are returned or not used, a second draw will be held later this year to re-issue the remaining plates.
As per the new Vehicles for Hire Bylaw, The City must issue 15 additional Taxi or Accessible Plates annually for three consecutive years from the day the bylaw came into effect, after which the restriction on the number of plates will be removed, allowing The City to issue Taxi or Accessible Plates to eligible applicants upon request.
