Building permit values continue climbing in June

Building permit values continued to rise in June, with 167 approved permits valued at $27.5 million, compared with 108 permits issued in June 2020 worth $7.7 million.

Year-to-date building permits remain lower in 2021, with current values at $69.5 million compared with $97 million last year.

Notable permits include:

  • Building permit for new 3,849 m2 commercial building and warehouse with 3,512 m2 outdoor storage area at 2810 50 Avenue, valued at $3.9 million
  • Building permit to construct new two-bay automated car wash at 60 Calder Street, valued at $2.75 million
  • Building permit for tenant improvements at 4311 54 Avenue, valued at $2 million
  • Building permit for construction of a new 10-unit multi-family residential building at 4506 47A Avenue, valued at $1.9 million
  • Building permit to construct a new convenience store and gas bar at 7414 50 Avenue, valued at $1.56 million
