Tree removal in preparation for work at the G.H. Dawe Community Centre

April 12, 2021 11:14 AM
(Red Deer, Alberta)

A small number of trees will be removed from an area on the north side of the G.H. Dawe Community Centre in preparation for the development of a new right-in, right-out off of 67 Street. Tree removal is scheduled to take place later this week.

In adherence with the Migratory Birds Act, trees are being removed now, before nesting season begins. There are no road or sidewalk closures as a result of the tree removal project.

To accommodate for the trees lost, The City will make a financial contribution to a Public Reserve Trust Fund aimed at protecting and enhancing green spaces in other areas of the city.
