Hindu Heritage Month

Hindu Heritage Month

November is Hindu Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the richness of Hindu culture and recognize the important contributions that Hindu Canadians continue to make towards building a strong and prosperous country.

Diwali is the largest celebratory events for the Hindu community and is observed in either October or November, depending on the cycle of the moon. In 2024, Diwali is celebrated on October 31.

Canada is home to nearly 830,000 Canadians of Hindu heritage, and no matter where you are in this country, the positive impact of the community can be seen in all aspects of our society. From politics to art, business to medicine, and everything in between, Canadians of Hindu heritage are at the forefront of our continued growth and development.

This month, Canadians are encouraged to celebrate the richness of Hindu culture and learn about the many contributions of the community. Let us reaffirm our commitment to building a vibrant and more equitable society for all. Source: Canada.ca
