We use Notify Red Deer to send updates by text, email, phone call, and now by app notification too. When you sign up, you tell us how you want to be notified, and we'll handle the rest.

Are Notify Red Deer and MyCity the same program?

No, Notify Red Deer and MyCity are separate platforms.

Notify Red Deer is The City's mass notification system powered by Everbridge. We use Notify Red Deer to keep residents informed about city services, and to alert them of any actions they may need to take in case of a local emergency.

MyCity is a separate program used for City service accounts such as utilities, property taxes, licences and permits.

What if my contact information changes?

You can sign in and update the information in your profile at any time.

If you're not sure how to edit the information in your account, take a look at our how-to page.

Can I opt out?

You can, but we'd ask you to pause before you do so.

If you delete your Notify Red Deer account entirely, we may be unable to reach you in an emergency. Emergency notifications go to all publicly listed phone numbers, but if you don't have a publicly listed landline, or you aren't at home to hear it ring, we might not reach you in an emergency.

If you're frustrated with notifications, consider amending your alert subscriptions instead. If you no longer wish to receive weekly cart collection reminders or seasonal snow zone alerts, you can remove those subscriptions from your profile.

For information about how to edit or delete your account, visit our how-to page.

Do you send test alerts?

Notify Red Deer is tested periodically. Test events are necessary to prepare for when we need to send critical information to residents in the event of an emergency or unfolding situation.

How do I sign up for Snow Zone alerts?

If you already have an account, you can update your preferences to include snow zone alerts and any other alert types you wish. Learn how to edit your account on our how-to page.

If you aren't already registered for Notify Red Deer, you will need to create an account. During the account setup process, you'll be asked which types of alerts you wish to receive, and you can select Snow Zone Alerts at that time.

What are COVID-19 Alerts?

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, we anticipate public health regulations will be in place for quite some time. As the situation continues to evolve, we may see changes to public health rules that may enable us to open facilities or reinstate services for periods of time, or may cause further restrictions to be put in place to ensure residents are safe.

COVID-19 alerts will provide text and email updates The City's response to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Standard text message rates apply.
