The City of Red Deer’s annual Toys for Tickets campaign has once again demonstrated the community’s generosity, successfully collecting over $4,800 in toy donations for the Red Deer Christmas Bureau. Red Deer’s holiday spirit shone bright this year, with most ticket holders amplifying the program’s impact by donating more than one toy.

“The success of this year’s Toys for Tickets campaign highlights the true spirit of the season,” said Stephanie Gramlich, Parking Coordinator. “We are truly grateful to everyone who participated by turning a parking ticket into joy for a child in our community. Their generosity ensures more children will experience the magic of Christmas morning.”

Since the program’s inception in 2007, over 10,250 toys have been donated through Toys for Tickets, making a significant difference in the lives of countless families across Red Deer. This year’s contributions will help the Red Deer Christmas Bureau provide holiday gifts to local children, ensuring that no child goes without a present this holiday season.

The Toys for Tickets program allowed parking ticket holders to pay their fines with toy donations throughout November. All toys collected were delivered to the Red Deer Christmas Bureau this week for distribution to families in need. To qualify, toy donations needed to be new, in original packaging, unwrapped, and accompanied by a receipt showing the toy’s value. Participants often went above and beyond, donating toys that exceeded the ticket amount and choosing thoughtful gifts for children of all ages.

“The support from our community is truly inspiring,” said Gramlich. “By participating in this program, residents not only helped spread holiday cheer but also supported the important work of the Red Deer Christmas Bureau. Together, we’re making the holidays brighter for everyone.”

The City of Red Deer extends its heartfelt thanks to all who participated in this year’s Toys for Tickets program. Special thanks go out to those who chose gifts from local businesses, further strengthening the community during the holiday season.
