City Council accepted and ratified a new four year collective agreement with the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 569 at its Council meeting on April 14, 2026.
ATU members ratified the agreement on March 26, 2026. The agreement is in effect from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2029.
“These negotiations were grounded in respect, transparency, and a shared focus on the people who deliver transit service every day. This agreement provides stability for our employees while ensuring we can continue to provide dependable service to the community,” said Priya Kingsley, Chief People Officer.
The two parties met over eight days of bargaining. Negotiations were conducted in a respectful and productive manner. The new agreement will provide annual wage adjustments of 3 per cent in 2026, 3.25 per cent in 2027, 3.25 per cent in 2028 and 3 per cent in 2029.
