Red Deer RCMP make multiple arrests after robbery with firearm investigation

Red Deer RCMP have made multiple arrests for an armed robbery, after months of investigation.

On Feb. 23, 2026, at 11:04 p.m., Red Deer RCMP responded to an armed robbery at a commercial business downtown. Police arrived and learned that three suspects had entered the location, stolen vape products, and fled the area in a white SUV.

The vehicle was confirmed stolen out of Edmonton and was later recovered by police in the Riverside Meadows area of Red Deer, Alta.

The initial investigation led to the identification of one suspect and multiple search warrants. As a result, on Feb. 26, 2026, Red Deer RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) arrested 53-year-old John Allison, a resident of Red Deer. Allison was charged with Possession of property obtained by crime and possession of unstamped tobacco for the purpose of selling.

Allison was released on an appearance notice to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on Apr. 15, 2026.

Further investigation confirmed the identities of two additional suspects, and arrest warrants were obtained for 39-year-old, Janine Amos, a resident of Red Deer, and 35-year-old, William Johnston-Vince, a resident of Sylvan Lake.

Janine Amos has been charged with the following:

  • Robbery with a firearm,
  • Disguise with intent,
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000,
  • Possession of unstamped tobacco for the purpose of selling.

Amos was arrested on other matters and has since been remanded into custody. Amos is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on May 29, 2026.

William Johnston-Vince is charged with the following:

  • Robbery with a firearm,
  • Disguise with intent,
  • Possession of property over $5000,
  • Possession of unstamped tobacco for the purpose of selling,
  • Fail to comply with a release order.

A warrant for arrest has been issued for William Johnston-Vince.
