Red Deer RCMP investigate injury collision involving e-scooter

On June 16, 2026, shortly after 7:00 a.m., Red Deer RCMP responded to a serious injury collision involving a car and an e-scooter on C & E Trail, north of Red Deer.

RCMP received a 911 call requesting assistance after a grey car and an e-scooter collided near Township Road 391. Reports indicated one person was seriously injured.

Police and Red Deer Emergency Services responded. The roadway was blocked for several hours while police investigated, with the assistance of the Alberta RCMP Collision Reconstructionist.

The 34-year-old driver of the e-scooter, a resident of Red Deer, was transported to hospital in serious but stable condition.

The driver of the car was assessed at the scene by EMS.

Red Deer RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate. The cause of the collision has not been determined; speed has not been ruled out as a factor.
