Red Deer, Alta. – Red RCMP advise the heavy police presence is now over in both the neighbourhood of Fairview and Gasoline Alley.
On Feb. 4, 2026, at approximately 8:07 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of a disturbance in progress at a residence in the Fairview neighbourhood. Police responded immediately, however the suspect had fled the residence. As the situation was unfolding, police asked schools in the area to enter a hold and secure as a precautionary measure.
The suspect was believed to have fled to the Gasoline Alley area, and police presence was enhanced.
Police have identified the suspect and continue to investigate this incident. There is no risk to the public.

We again remind public to avoid the area and refrain from posting pictures of police response to social media until the situation is resolved. There is no risk to the public.
Koinonia Christian School and Fairview Elementary schools were on secure and hold and are in the process of being lifted.
