Red Deerians can soon make a splash as the Recreation Centre Outdoor Pool opens for the season this Saturday June 1, 2024 weather permitting.
Central Spray & Play and Woody’s Spray Park opened ahead of schedule yesterday, Tuesday, May 28. Both spray parks are open daily from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. weather permitting.
- Central Spray & Play features a 7,500 square foot spray pad with 35 spray toys and two dump buckets and is located at the northwest corner of Rotary Recreation Park
(47A Avenue and 48 Street). - Woody’s Spray Park features spray & splash equipment focused on nature with our very own “red deer”, cat-tails, canoe, rainbow rings, spraying trees and fun critters and is located at the north entrance of the G.H. Dawe Community Centre (6155 67 Street).
The Recreation Centre Outdoor Pool is located at the Recreation Centre (4501 47A Avenue) and features a 50 metre pool for public and lane swimming, one and three metre diving boards and a children’s shallow area with spray features. There are deck chairs for lounging located around the pool and a designated outdoor eating area to enjoy.
The Recreation Centre will adjust to spring hours as of June 1, 2024. The community is encouraged to check online drop-in schedules prior to their visit to plan water fun appropriately at www.reddeer.ca/dropin.
Additionally, other water-based amenities within the city continue to prepare for the return of warmer temperatures and summer fun.
