The next phase of the 43 Ave/Ross Street infrastructure upgrades will begin on Monday, June 24, affecting Ross Street traffic patterns.
Upgrades to the water, sanitary, storm and traffic infrastructure will require extended road closures at the Ross Street intersection over two phases this summer.
Phase 2 will start with a full road closure on Ross (50) Street from 42 Avenue to 50a Street, as the existing traffic signal infrastructure is removed. A full road closure will be in place on Monday, June 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Following that work, from June 24 to July 19, traffic will be reduced to one westbound and one eastbound lane on the south portion of Ross Street, subject to weather.
Phase 3 is scheduled to begin July 15, at which time the traffic pattern will alternate to both west and eastbound traffic flowing on the north side of the intersection. Phase 3 work is anticipated to be completed by September 15.
Motorists should anticipate delays, and are encouraged to find an alternate route. Please slow down when approaching or driving in construction areas and obey all signs. Your patience and cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Construction hours are slated from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Saturday, with the possibility of Sunday and evening work as dictated by weather and schedule requirements. Noise bylaws will be adhered to during these hours to minimize disruptions to residents.
