Bird deterrent activity at Wastewater Treatment Plant

In an effort to deter migratory birds from nesting in storage ponds at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, operators are using approved bird deterrent methods in Red Deer.

Methods approved for use include predator decoys, air cannons and personnel patrols. As a result, air cannons may be heard by residents and visitors to Three Mile Bend, Riverbend Golf Course/Discovery, Chiles Industrial Park and the Pines.
