The City is looking for volunteers who are open-minded, fair and willing to contribute their time and their knowledge, to sit as an alternate for the Municipal Planning Commission (MPC).
The MPC meets Wednesdays at 9 a.m. when they are required and acts as an authority in all matters assigned under the Land Use Bylaw, Council or by the Development Officer. The alternate position will attend meetings if one if the regular committee members cannot.
“This position is a great opportunity for someone who would like to gain experience on a board,” said Rebecca Derwantz, Committees Coordinator. “The alternate member receives complete training and has all the voting authority of regular members at those meetings.”
Application forms for the alternate MPC position can be found at reddeer.ca/committees and will be received until Monday, November 27 at 9 a.m. They can be submitted by emailing legislativeservices@reddeer.ca; mailing Committees Coordinator, Legal & Legislative Services, City of Red Deer, PO Box 5008, 4914 – 48 Avenue, Red Deer, AB; T4N 3T4; or dropped off in the mail slot at City Hall.
