The City of Red Deer is excited to introduce new grant funding opportunities in 2023, starting with $200,000 available for local community organizations in the recreation and environmental sector.
The Recreation & Sport Development Fund will provide up to $150,000 annually via two submission categories: Inclusion in Local Sport and Sport Leadership Capacity Building. Qualifying organizations are welcome to apply for one or both categories to support recreation and sport development in Red Deer.
The Environmental Initiatives Grant will provide up to $10,000 per application to support community-led projects that support the vision and goals of The City’s Environmental Master Plan. In 2023, there is a total of $50,000 available for these initiatives.
“We are thrilled to be offering these new grant opportunities to further support the health and wellness of Red Deerians. Empowering our local non-profit organizations to carry out their unique and innovative ideas is an important part of our work,” stated Kristin Walsh, Manager of Safe & Healthy Communities.
The application deadline for the Environmental Initiatives Grant is April 28, 2023 at 4 p.m. Applicants have until April 21, 2023 to apply for funding in the Sport Leadership Capacity category, while applications are open year-round for the Inclusion in Local Sport category.
