Red Deer drivers are advised of an upcoming road closure in the downtown along 49 Street between 51 Avenue and 49 Avenue.
Starting at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 49 Street will be closed to traffic as crews complete watermain, storm and sanitary replacements. There will be intermittent lane closures at the intersections of 51 Avenue and 49 Street, and 50 Avenue and 49 Street. Access to businesses will be available during construction and the road is estimated to be open on September 15.
Drivers are reminded to plan for delays, slow down when driving in construction zones, and obey all signs. Pedestrians are reminded to cross only at designated crosswalks.
