Building permit values drop in June

Building permit values decreased in June, with 74 approved permits valued at $10.9 million, compared with 166 permits issued in June 2021 worth $27 million.

Year-to-date building permit values remain higher in 2022, with current values at $89 million compared with $69 million last year.

Notable permits include:

  • Building permit for new Bartle & Gibson service centre, including 8,900 sq. ft. showroom and office, and 39,000 sq. ft. warehouse at 7550 Johnstone Drive, valued at $5,500,000
  • Building permit for alterations to existing Canadian Tire store at 2510 50 Avenue, valued at $1,050,000
  • Building permit for security upgrades to Red Deer Provincial Building at 4920 50 Avenue, valued at $446,685
  • Building permit for tenant improvements at 110-2404 50 Avenue, valued at $325,000
  • Building permit for commercial kitchen upgrade at 10-7429 49 Avenue, valued at $300,000
