Building permit values climb in December

Building permit values have increased in December with 58 approved permits valued at $6.5 million, compared with 69 permits issued in December 2020 worth $6.3 million.

Year-to-date building permits remain lower in 2021, with current values at $109.5 million compared with $261 million last year.

Notable permits include:

  • Building permit 2nd and 5th floor interior renovation. New walls, mill work, glass partition systems, coiling overhead shutter, operatable wall and new structural supports. New fixtures sprinkler system design and HVAC, plumbing fire pump replacement at 51 Street 4920, valued at $1,639,548.
  • Building permit for new 5 Bay Commercial Building at 50 Avenue 3321, valued at $1,300,000.
  • Building permit for demo of 1700 sq ft of office space and renovate 3116 sq ft for tenant improvements at 205 52 Avenue 4309, valued at $440,000.
  • Building permit for detached dwelling with a triple attached garage, developed basement and a covered and uncovered deck at 128 Emerald Drive, valued at $277,783.
  • Building permit for tenant improvements for Broker Link insurance at 110 54 Avenue 4311, valued at $252,000.
