There is one week left to nominate an individual, group or team for a Mayor’s Recognition Award.
The Mayor’s Recognition Awards honour citizens who have made contributions to our community or brought honour and recognition to Red Deer. These awards are a way of acknowledging and congratulating our citizens for their accomplishments.
The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, April 19 at 9 a.m. The awards are open to anyone who lives in or contributes to our community. There are five award categories:
- Athletics
- Distinguished Voluntary Service
- Fine & Performing Arts
- Community Builder Award
- Mayor’s Special Award
Typically, nominees are considered for an award only in the year immediately following the year in which the achievement occurred; however, as this year’s awards encompass two years, nominees will be considered for an award for two years following the year in which the achievement occurred.
