Building permit values rise in September

Building permit values increased in September, with 86 issued permits valued at $9.6 million, compared with 115 permits issued in September 2024 worth $7.7 million.

 

Year-to-date permit values remain higher in 2025, with current values at $1.04 billion, compared with $93 million at this time last year.

Notable permits include:

  • Building permit for interior renovations of the south complex building at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, 3942 50A Avenue, valued at $2.3 million
  • Building permit for interior and exterior renovations to convert former Safeway to a No Frills grocery store at 6321 51 Avenue, valued at $1.6 million
  • Building permit for expansion of Warren Sinclair LLP Law Office into undeveloped space on fifth floor of same building at 600-4911 51 Street, valued at $500,000
  • Building permit for redevelopment and exterior renovations of existing building at 4320 54 Avenue, valued at $480,000
  • Building permit for construction of a new single family detached dwelling with attached garage and covered deck at 41 Larratt Close, valued at $310,000
