(Red Deer, Alberta)

158,263 votes were cast in the 2025 Municipal and School Board Elections, with 15,463 Red Deer residents taking part, which represents about 21 per cent of eligible voters.

Red Deer is among the first municipalities in Alberta to officially declare election results, confirming the Mayor, Councillors and School Board Trustees elected to serve the 2025–2029 term.

“Participating in a democratic process is one of the most meaningful ways residents can influence the future of their community. We want to thank every citizen who cast a ballot in the 2025 Municipal and School Board Elections,” said Jessica Robinson, Returning Officer for Elections Red Deer. “This year, we saw fewer residents take advantage of advance voting, which meant more people chose to vote on Election Day. While this created some busy periods at the polls, we were grateful to see so many citizens show up in person to make their voices heard.”

At this time, we have the following information to share related to voter turnout:

  • Eligible Voters: 72,766
  • Voter Turnout: 15,463/21%*
  • Total Votes Cast: 158,263*

With official results now declared, additional information will be released in the coming days and weeks outlining further details such as:

  • Voting station-by-station breakdowns
  • Advance vote, special ballot and institutional vote breakdowns
  • A breakdown of rejected ballots

“We want to acknowledge and thank the more than 400 election workers who helped count ballots, staffed the polls, and supported the election process. We want to thank the candidates and the scrutineers. We want to thank every citizen who cast a ballot, and who demonstrated a commitment to the future of this community,” said Jessica Robinson, Returning Officer. “We will continue to release data so the community has a clear and complete picture of voting activity as part of this election.”

A full Summary Report: Election 2025 will be compiled and publicly shared as part of this process. This is expected in 2026.

Further updates will be shared on the Red Deer Elections website.
