Kiwanis-Picnic-Shelter

Find the perfect spot for your next reunion, birthday party, team-building or evening out with a campfire. Picnic Shelters are the perfect location for an outdoor gathering with friends and family. Bookings are recommended to ensure you have access to a picnic shelter. Booking Season available from May to October (Thanksgiving weekend).

  • Booked in 3 hour increments. $67.20 per booking.
  • Shelters can seat approximately 20 people. Adjacent picnic tables and grass area beside the picnic shelter are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Access to washrooms.
  • Pets and alcohol are prohibited.
  • There are no refunds due to inclement weather conditions.
  • Permit holder is responsible for leaving the area clean and litter free.
  • Firewood is not provided at City parks.
  • All parks within the City shall be closed to public gatherings from 11 PM to 7 AM

McKenzie Trails Picnic Shelter

Situated beside McKenzie Pond, this is one of the most scenic shelters.

  • No canoeing in lakes, but there is a canoe launch to the river

As one of the most popular park areas in Red Deer, this park has something for everyone.
