Description
Soul & Fuel, two clay murals sharing a reflective leisure theme, are the creative culmination of more than 180 art students from Hunting Hills and Notre Dame High Schools. Student’s instruction, creativity, design and methodology were inspired by Dawn Detarando and Brian McArthur of Voyageur Art & Tile Studio.
The artists worked with the two student bodies to produce each school’s distinctive mural, that when installed together, are meant to compliment each other. One school conceived the shoe theme and from that they linked the word Soul to name their mural effect. The other school decided on the word Fuel and incorporated favourite foods into their artistic theme. These two beautiful pieces invite the viewer to explore the many aspects and poetic similarities related to the words Fuel and Soul and the metaphorical connection to a sports and leisure facility.
