Perpetual Care Fund
To ensure the final resting place of your loved one is taken care of forever, The City has created the Perpetual Care Fund. The fund provides the primary means for the detailed care and maintenance of the cemetery grounds. A portion of your lot fee is allocated to this fund.
Care of the grounds
Cemetery Services follows standards set by The City of Red Deer Parks section regarding turf maintenance, plantings and weed control. Parks staff maintain all cemetery lots.
As they care for these areas, staff may remove live or artificial funeral designs, floral arrangements or any other items that in any way become detrimental to the aesthetics or functionality of the lot, walk or driveway. Items may also be removed if they impede maintenance or impose a health and wellness risk to staff or the public.
For maintenance and safety reasons, The City does not allow fences, railings, walls, trees, shrubs or hedges around cemetery lots. Instead, we invite you to decorate with fresh cut and artificial flowers contained within an approved vase.
